This window installation of process works by jewellers Renee Bevan & Ross Malcolm titled Push Play is an exhibition of objects, rarely viewed outside of their individual workshops. This installation is a visual record of their creative process and includes over two hundred of the potentialities, possible ideas, directions and experiments they have collectively produced over the span of their relatively short careers.
Bevan and Malcolm consider these Marquette’s to be “an important means of regenerating ideas for our jewellery practice. We consider Marquette making as drawing in three-dimensions. Working in this way enables us to create objects constructed without reservation, which retain a freshness and vibrancy sometimes lost in the resolution of a finished piece”.
Renee Bevan is a regular exhibitor at Fingers Contemporary Jewellery Gallery and was selected to participate in Talante 2005, 57th International Trade Fair, Munich, Germany. Ross Malcolm exhibits throughout New Zealand. He received the premier award at the Molly Morpeth Canaday 3D Awards 2006 and a merit award at the Oceania National Jewellery Awards & Exhibition 2006.
