Hannah Hutchinson is a Wellington based material responsive designer. The works in this installation evolved out of repurposing waste materials using textile processes learnt (during her studies). From bicycle tyres to ice-block sticks, Hannah tests her source materials using processes such as weaving, knotting and threading, utilising repetitive processes and patterns to create tactile and dynamic surfaces. Final works are a selection of furniture, wall panels and sculpture, and are a response to the physical properties and aesthetic qualities of the source materials, turning them from something discarded into something new and desirable.
Hannah is a graduate of Massey University, College of Creative Arts
