Vintage Paua Shell Jewellery Floortalk

Drawing on vintage paua shell jewellery in the Objectspace exhibition, material culture historian, writer and curator Elly van de Wijdeven presents a floortalk covering the cultural history of paua shell jewellery from its early days in the late 1920s until the late 1970s.

Following the talk, Elly invites the audience to bring along a piece of vintage paua shell jewellery of particular interest to them, to share its story and perhaps receive some information on the context of its making.
