Inside / Outside: A Case for the Book

Event / 24 October 2014

The Association of Book Crafts NZ is hosting its first International conference in Auckland, 24th to 26th October 2014 in the central city at Auckland University of Technology.

The conference provides and exciting opportunity to be inspired by and learn more about book production of both traditional and innovative structures including design; conservation/history; illustration; book arts; book collecting; education; exhibition of books etc.

The keynote speakers are Julie Chen from California and Dominic Riley from the UK who will be supported by line up of 20 high level presenters. On the final day the conference will be drawn to a close with a panel discussion – What is the future of the book? Chaired by Iain Sharp, this will be a lively and potentially contentious conclusion to the conference weekend.

There are also a number of exhibitions, workshops and events planned to coincide with the conference including the exhibition Janus Press:The New Zealand Connection, which will be on at Objectspace from 17 October to 1 November. Further information and registration details for the conference can be found here: www.abc-nz.org
